Hello Friends ! Just want to share our step-by-step experience signing Bridal Package in JB with Dolce Vita Couture Bridal House @ Johor Bahru City Square Level 5 !

We actually passed by Dolce Vita (aka BNY)'s Roadshow at JB City Square the other day .. In Feb 2015

To be frank ... we were only curious to find out more about the costs and their offerings ... we didn't even know that actually Dolce Vita is know as BNY Bridal in the past .. this was found out after we signed up and did some research ..

So we ended up signing a package which we felt it was a good deal ! Haha .. (idk whether really good deal or not) 

well AFTER WE SIGN THEN we came home and did some research , so heng suay one ... the best is don't even speak to any of the bridal house if you never did any research .. because really is NO CLUE , just like us..

Actually we never expected to sign up with Dolce Vita, simply because we didn't know who they were. But actually after some research we found out that they are acutally called BNY Wedding Gallery last time, then recently changed name to Dolce Vita.. and also their shop in JB City Square is actually 3 shops joined together, its on level 5. 

They have been operating in JB i think more than 5 years , and what drew our interest was their works , photography very nice and realistic, artistic aspects , its like what we are expecting . All is done by their in-house photographers and videographers , as we understand not all bridal shops have own in-house staff to do that ...

 But what drew us to DOLCE VITA (JB City Square) was the photography style and the pretty gowns.. the lady who served us was very nice and friendly too.  

Before we sign the package, the girl asked if we wanted to visit their shop at Level 5 upstairs and view the gowns, yes why not ! 

Then we went up to see their shop and gowns, the gowns are really gorgeous and a lot to choose from ! The girl tell me all gowns is free to choose from , no additional cost ** this is very important !!! & they also have studio in the shop, such big space in JBCS means their business must be not bad to sustain la ... haha ..

 You must be very sharp to take note the small details, especially when they say to "promise" you , but they might convienently "forget" after you signed up the package, so ask them to write down all in black and white on the order sheet or your receipt ! Dont need paiseh or shy one , because you're the customer !!

**The key point is : you must know what you want , and be daring to cut cut cut !! Because they will keep asking your budget and what you need. I guess we were quite clear on what we needed.... I guess?!!

Actually for our case, we only wanted to rent the Actual Day (AD) costumes and photographers + videographers for AD .. as we already signed up the pre-wedding shoot with Bluebay Wedding for Paris Pre-Wedding:

At first the girl offered us the Gowns Package [GOWNS ONLY] : 

3 Gowns for the Lady, 3 Gowns for the Man - w/o any photoshooting like this is cost RM 4500?!!

We were thinking WTF like damm ex then we want to go already , show abit sian and buay song face.

So the girl explained further , then we friendly up to her, laugh and smile all that...., she provided us with the below after lots of discussion :

So our RM3800 **promotion** package [valid for 5 years] as below : **this was back in 2015** 

Package includes the below :

1) For Pre-Wedding Shoot

• 1 entire day of photoshoot - at their Studio and in JB Area

• 3 outfits for Bride (All Gowns can choose)

• 3 outfits for Groom (All Outfits can choose)

• 3 hairstyles setting and Make Up Included

• 10" X 20" Album - 20 Pages and 30 Poses 

• 1 x 8R size table top pic

• 谢卡 Gift Cards 4R size - 60pcs (this one like quite useless after thinking it through, maybe try to change)

• 1 x DVD slide show montage of the shots

• 1 x CDR which is contained all 30 poses selected for the album pics edited soft copy burned in disc - in original high quality OK to print large formats

2) Actual Wedding Day in Malaysia

• Bouquet


• Wedding Car Decoration

For the Lady

• 1 Wedding Gown (All Gowns can choose)

• 1 Evening Gown (All Gowns can choose)

• 1 Kwa (Traditional Chinese Costume)

For the Man

• 1 Full Set Suit (All can choose)

• 1 Coat (All can choose)            

Validity of 5 years

**All Gowns are free to choose (no extra payment for nicer ones)** must write down**




Let me highlight what I bargained for :

The original package she quoted RM3800 DID NOT INCLUDE : 

1. 1 Kwa for Actual Day (which she say need add RM500 or more)


2. 1 Extra Outfit for the Guy for Photoshoot (which she say needed add RM400)


3. From 25 poses to 30 poses for the Photoshoot ^^


4. If different gowns selected , RM500 per piece for Lady


5. Option to add on : Photographer + Videographer 1 whole day for AD costs RM5000 (include actual day edit and all photos + footage). This one she say we can consider after trying their photographer skills.

 
SOOOO our AD clothes in Malaysia is settled ! Plus additonal JB photoshoot which she keep saying its like "free" to us , since we wanted the gowns package anyway ... haha ...  ^^ 

The lady who served us brought us up (roadshow at level 1 and bridal shop at level 5) to see their gowns and their shop.. the shop quite big !! and the gowns are modern and nice .. that's why we sort of impulsively signed up .. hahahaaa..

IDK this is counted worth it or not ????? No experience .. but just record down first in case I forgotten what happened next year ... lol

Updating our readers with Part 2 of our Dolce Vita Couture Journey !!! 

Part 2 is about Choosing & Fittings!! 

So in February 2016, we called up Dolce Vita Couture and asked them that if we wanted the pictures ready by July (planning our ROM to be July) .. Then when must we shoot the photos ? 

They told us that we needed to shoot latest by mid April for pictures and books etc to be all ready by July . So they scheduled our fittings to be 3 weeks before the shoot ... 

However , we had something cropped up  later on after fixing the date, so we called them to change the fitting date .. They were pretty flexible about it , just needed to see when they have slot :) 

CHOOSING GOWNS & FITTINGS DAY !! 

We chose it on a Sunday so no need take leave .. 

Arrived at the shop !! 

Went inside and the coordinator sat us down , gave us water and asked us what kind of theme photos that we wanted to take ... 拍照要什么feel ??? Actually we also don't really know !!! Everybody korean style right ??? Hahahaha ... 

So look @ the past photo albums for some inspirations ... 

Btw , they have ALOT of gowns compared to other Bridal shops on the same floor .. Their gowns is all stacked together !!! So there is actually a lot to choose from .. What we see is other bridal shop is hang one piece by one piece quite sparsely ... And I'm a person who loves choices haha ..  

Inside area have more gowns , like at 3 areas more of what's above .. 

So after we looked at some photo albums , we said we wanted 2 dresses for outdoor shoot (2 locations) and 1 dress for the indoor shoot ... 

By the way , the indoor studio is inside the shop .. At the back ! Together with the make up room.. Haha .. 

For the 2 outdoor locations , 

1) we thinking to want to go Riders Lodge ! Where the horses are at !!! I think quite nice experience to take with horses .. It just distracts the whole attention away from our unsightly size .. HAHA .. 

2) I saw this wooden bridge very nice , so wanted to take either at beach or seaside or harbour .. 

I wanted all different feels !!! But we got a more concrete idea of the theme after we chose dresses :) 

For the fittings part , they first took measurements of my body ....., the coordinator and assistant began to take out 2 white dresses for me to try to suit the theme i suggest .. I took an off-white elegant gown for indoor shoot .. Didnt take pics of the gowns cos secret hehe !!! 

Oh , i was not prepared as it's my first bridal fitting .. I don't know what to bring !! So you really do need a nude bra ... And they stick for me , and they even taught me how to use 2 nude bra for max effect!! They stick already i'm like jaw drop !! I didnt even know can use 2 .. Everybody sure will have cleavage deep deep >.< HAHAA!!! 

Ended up I bought the nude bra from them .. Seem better quality then outside cos is more sticky... 2 for RM$180 .. Which turned out to be dammm ex cos outside sell like half price .. But they kept for me together with the gown and clean for me .. So convenience sake lo... and after trying their nubra , really very sticky !!

An assistant is bound to watch you strip and help you change .. For sure .. You cant wear the gown yourself .. And the can-can .. They will put for you too .. No worries about that .. Don't need shy .. Hehe.. 

After trying 2 not suitable gowns , i went to walk around the shop to look look see see .. And took those i liked , asked to try .. Everything OK ! I could choose from where i wanted , not restricted  .. No nonsense .. :) 

All in all I tried a total of 8 gowns!! Out of the 8 i chose my lucky 3 .. For guys they just sit down outside the fitting room and wait.. But ZW also walk around to help me choose lah !! Which the assistant said very rare that guy will help lady choose ... HAHAHA cos he my best sis ^^ 

So we spent a total of around 1.5 hours , i was pretty decisive about the gowns ..hehe .. 

So i chose : 1 champagne strapless elegant embrodery gown with train (for indoor) , 1 white & pink 3D flowers and effect gown (for nature) , 1 white and pink flowy long chiffon toga (for beach /jetty) cos they say the dress can fly .. We shall see haha .. 

Overall no hassle , no nonsense , straighforward and good service so far ! They gave us water and didnt make noise when we said we want look around and walk around the shop few times , looking at and touching the gowns , also OK to try the gowns i liked ... So far so good !!!

Double Eyelid Surgery in Malaysia Johor JB @ Dr. Anga (With Before & After )

Was contemplating for quite some time on whether I should write about this post

But oh well, with the boy's agreement I'm going ahead ! and our blog "truthfullyus" must uphold its name.. hahaha !!! All pics unedited. (except the first one of us lol)

Okay, some introduction here, so... Dr Anga has been my family's trusted Plastic Surgeon in JB for a long long time (My extended family all resides in Johor) .. apparently my grandfather was the first to get things done.. by saying 'things' , nothing major -- just something like a simple eyelid surgery probably 10 years ago LOL so hip. So on, the rest of my fam got things done by him too, but all was nothing major, mostly face lifting and removal of oil bumps / moles etc ! But I heard he does other minor surgeries regarding vessels too . He is a very recognized and well respected doctor in Johor, win quite a lot of awards, as displayed in his clinic !

So everyone??? in JB goes to Dr Anga for cosmetic enhancements as he is the probably most well known around here and thus his schedule is jam packed every single day ! extremely hard to book an appointment !! But my aunts help we managed to get a slot in less than a month's wait. Haha !! 

WHY ?

My boy has been thoroughly concerned about his droopy eyelids for almost the whole of his life . As you can see from the pictures below , the BEFORE pic, he has one droopy eyelid and basically very sleepy looking eyes .......... and he always tell me he is sick of it HAHA. 

Actually, Dr Angka was not the first one we consulted regarding his one side droopy eyelids , during NS he consulted the National Eye Centre in Singapore, and they quoted him SGD 1000 per eye if they were going to do it for him, and it is not double eyelid !!! Its only pull up the eyelids to even out the look of the eyes !!! >.<

So I told him about Dr Anga and how my fam got things done by him, apparently my fam only trusts him. Haha.. so he decided to take a leap of faith and JUST DO IT !!

*now he has said this is the best thing he has ever done for himself. LOLOL

HOW?

First Visit : was in December 2014 -- nearing Christmas. We decided to go for consultation first. 

As usual, waiting for DR Anga appointment usually takes hours, we waited for 2 hours past our appt time this time round. Haha... and consultation took only 15 mins ! Just told him what we wanna do , then he quote us $$$ and "demo" to us on how the end result will look like by using a prick like thingy to lift up the eyelid folds .

Background Info : Types of Eyelid Surgery 

There are two types of eyelid surgery:

1) Incision (Cutting) and 2) Suture (Sewing) Technique.

Two things to put into consideration:

1) how long you want the fold to last & 2) the recovery period

1) Incision Method will definitely last longer as the surgeon will cut the excess skin away and sew the eyelids back together (straight forward saying). The results are more permanent and the surgeon has more control to remove extra skin and fat and design the fold height and shape ...

BIG BUT , the downtime takes a lot longer – possible swelling for more than a month, and could only fully heal after several months. There might be scars and it looks less natural as skin is removed like an operation !! 

2) Sewing Technique is a procedure that doesn't require going under the knife (OK, not majorly, but they will only cut 3 small holes). The double eyelids are created by a quick and simple procedure done under anaesthesia, and is completed in under an hour .

 GOOD THAT , minor wounds are created, the healing will take only a few days. The downtime from the scarless method is mainly from some swelling and occasional bruising. 

For our case, Dr Anga suggested the sewing method then so be it !! 

You can tell him how thick or thin you want it to be (your double eyelid fold) and also either parallel or tapered crease.. but he know how to judge so he will do the most suitable for your face,

AHHHHH !!! SURGERY DAY

I went with him that day . The entire surgery took less than 1 hour, under anesthesia thus cannot go alone, will need someone to fetch !

The waiting time for Dr Anga took about 2 hours , because he had a surgery before this. We insisted on him to do it as he is the most experienced, I think there is a few other doctors there.

The actual surgery time was less than 1 hour, I was waiting outside for him . 

After that , then a nurse came up (the operation room is downstairs) and asked me to go downstairs to see him .

He was lying on the bed & very drowsy -- i kept asking him pain or not, he say not pain but very very drowsy . I think the anesthesia was quite strong !

Frankly I was quite scared at first because the eyes look very uneven and one is swelling so much more than the other !

Then before we left the clinic we asked the nurse HOW?!! WHAT IF REALLY UNEVEN?! *shock face* The nurse just say , wait for 2 months - if really uneven then come back again ! Can do some re-stitch for free .. but no free anesthesia next time ...... wah :o

The nurse gave him painkillers & antibiotics for healing , medicine to last 7 days. 

AFTER THE SURGERY 

Fetched him back to the hotel to rest - stayed at KSL that day 

(side note: KSL apartment 3 bedrooms - very spacious & comfortable && very cheap ! Is about $120/night only hee hee) 

He felt giddy / drowsy and didnt have much appetite the entire day. The surgery completed at 4pm . Reach back hotel 4.30pm. So he slept from then till about 9pm , woke him up for his dinner. 

After the anesthesia wore off , he gradually felt pain. But still bearable..

NECESSITIES 

1) I also bought him FISH ESSENCE - from Eu Yang Sang  LOL I heard it helps to heal faster !!

*he is a slow healer -- takes forever to recover from pimples...... :x

He took 1 bottle everyday for 6 days :D

2) MANY MANY ICE PACKS !!!

He put overnight and keep on changing. Need for the de-swell.. MUST USE.. LIFE SAVER

DAY 1

"its like something pulling my eyelids - cannot close properly" for the first night 

There is no bleeding though , dried blood stains... just a very bad swelling !! So uneven I was so scared! The key is eyes will be very itchy or irritated , DO NOT RUB

DAY 2 : 

Back at Home. Think the swelling decreased a lot !!!

Because he keep spam Ice Packs and also drink a lot of water -- also Im sure my fish essence helped lol.

Minimal Pain - Still Must Spam ICE PACKS!!!!

DAY 3: 

DAY 4:

DAY 6 :

We went to 4D3N KRABI with our friends somemore, about 7 days after his surgery !! HAHAA

Swimming in the Sea wasn't a problem. 

Just be sure to wear sunglasses and refrain from rubbing eyes.

DAY 10 :

DAY 14 & AFTER :

*this is the time I think it looks more and more natural ..
But almost none of his colleagues or friends realised that he went to do this ! HAHAHAAA 

Now it looks very natural already !!! and its significant difference ... hahaa... my parents keep saying lucky he go & do , add marks LOL .. 

Anyway if really droop again or uneven, can go back and do again.. lol... heheeeee. Just refrain from touching eyes area thats all . Pain level he say is about 6/10 or so.. 

The worst day was the 1ST DAY. All the others is manageable ! (his own experience!)
