[BALI BLOG 2015] Day 1: Green Field Ubud Bali Review - A Hidden Paradise

Hello pals ! Here to blog about my trip to Bali 2015 May !

It was the first time to Bali for the both of us ..
and we were really looking forward to this 4 days trip !

We did lots of planning and research for this .. Usually we will just share / edit our itinerary on google docs.. for our trips usually I'm the one doing all the planning and I'm ok with it because I like doing the research and as long as THE GUY PAYS... (thankfully he is completely OK with this arrangement) HAHAHAAAA :D

We pre-booked our flights on Singapore Air (always fly SQ) way before the trip , so our promotion return air tickets prices are only like SGD 240 per pax.. is that cheap or what?!!

Its' an evening flight where the skies were so drop dead gorgeous and we even saw the sunset and the burnt clouds.. it was such a pleasant flight and we had yummy dinner ! The tickets were so worth it omg...

In mid air

Arrival at Bali Denpensar Airport ! Its open air .. so Balinese .. haha

actually for this night we just wanted to stay somewhere near the airport .. so we booked that in advance and also our following hotels such as Ayana and Le Jardin Villa.. did not intend to visit Ubud..

But after consideration we decided to make the most of our trip and also visit Ubud this time !

So we booked our Ubud stay (1 night) for tonight ! We travelled to Ubud after our flight ...

We arrived the airport around 9.30pm or 10pm.. and pre-arranged our hotel driver to come and pick us .. We were going to stay at Green Field Ubud tonight ..

Gotta say we experienced the true Balinese hospitality here.. the staff were so prompt in replying all the emails (I had lots of questions such as late arrival, pick up from airport at night and also early check out , tours etc) and they all served us so well... what amazes me is that the hotel is not expensive hotel, yet the staff is so well trained ! btw, this hotel only SGD 125 per night. OMG

Our driver putting our stuff into the car

Well it takes about 1 to 1.5 hours to reach Ubud from the Airport...

Along the way , I had a terrible stomachache and needed the loo like ASAP..
The driver managed to find a loo for me (so damm grateful) and even paid the parking for the place , which he did not collect from us.. but we gave him a tip when we reached anyway :)

It was all very dark and roads were small , so we did not take much pictures..

We reached Green Field Ubud at about 11.30pm to 12am .. In the middle of the night..

We were actually very surprised by the large compound of this place, its like a huge compound with lots of 2 storey huts (2 rooms per floor) ... Well this didn't show on the booking website ! Hahaha.. Wow...

Despite reaching in the middle of the night , a staff personally brought us to our room and introduced everything thoroughly !!

Anyway we were dammn tired and just bathe and sleep ! Because the next day we had a long day ahead...

We booked a room on the 2nd storey , with balcony facing rice fields .. we couldn't see anything in the dark though.. haha

Wow so luxe .. this hotel only SGD 125 per night ok (Breakfast Included) !!! OMG

They also had a book of activities we could participate.. man I wished I stayed here for longer !

We woke up to an amazing sight , indescribable feeling ! So beautiful and lush.. The pics on the booking site didn't really do it justice and we were blown away because its out of our expectations..

View from our balcony !

I could sit here all day but we planned the day activities rather tightly T_T

I gotta say something about the air ... the air is so rejuvenating , revitalising, so fresh and crisp.. took a couple of deep breaths and could feel my body renew again.. I never felt the air like that before.. I know maybe sound very exaggerated but that's what I felt.. HAHAHA...

Pardon no make up face....

Room tour shot on the Gopro .. I actually have a ton of Bali Videos but I dunno how to edit nicely into youtube vids :(

Going down for breakfast ! Breakfast is at the restaurant .... 5 mins walk from our hut..

Can you see on the right side of this pic, there are many small building like that.. and the compound is actually huge...

See below for a half of the compound tour we had before we went for breakfast.. haaa the other half is in another video !

#ootd ------ every corner in this place is so instagrammable .. lol..

Breakfast Menu !!!!!!! Breakfast included in the hotel price omg...

BREAKFAST :D

My simple yummy buffet breakfast.. fried mee , fruits, pancakes, eggs, mee soto and most importantly, LEMONGRASS TEA .. I dammn love these tea..

Explored a little more of the compound.. isn't this pavilion AMAZING...

We went back to the room to pack and check out ... as we planned to go to Camphugan Ridge Walk and also pre-arranged Spa after .. we will only reach back to the hotel after 12pm, so we checked out first...

We only stayed one night.. T_T

I definitely need to come back for longer....

Check out my video below for Part 2 of the compound tour.... everything was so beautiful !

This is the reception area :)

And they had this amazing pond

So many lounging areas... wish we could just chill here !!! Aiya ....

The hotel was very kind to send us to Warwick Ibah Hotel for free , where the start of Campuhan Ridge walk is ...

This hotel blew away all my expectations of customer service and hospitality, everyone greeted us, were so friendly and accommodating.. they speak good english too !

5 STARS !!!!!!!!!

And also the compounds were nothing short of AMAZING !!!!! I can say its the best place I ever stayed .. until I reached Ayana.. HAHAHAHA

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

We had the morning walk at 8am and it was already very hot !!!! (This will be in a separate post)

After Campuhan Ridge Walk , we had spa at Bali Botanica ... had lunch at Cafe Wayan and came back to the hotel to get our luggages and stuff...
