SG CarMart Quotz Review : Selling my used car !!

Hello guys !!

So recently we were selling my dad's used car and we utilised this service that we wanna share because its quite good !!

Its called : SG CarMart Quotz , this is operated by SGCarMart !!

We sold the car by bidding and how it works is : this Quotz will help you to list your car on the car dealers network and have a "auction" where they will bid for the car ... Let me share my process ..
Before this , Hun did ask his car dealer friend about the price that he would take the car for .. The friend told us 38K... We had no clue about the market price and wanted the money quickly so we decided to test market by using Quotz..

We wanted to sell quickly and hassle free thus we want to sel by dealer .. Of course selling on your own is higher price but taken into account the time waiting and effort is not v worth it (as this old car unti jan 2017 only !!)
So what we did was .....

PART ONE)>>>>>>>>>>>>> :

go to the Quotz website and register an appointment to bring the car down .. http://www.quotz.com.sg

PART TWO)>>>>>>>>>>>

after filling up the form , somebody from Quotz will give you a call to schedule the appointment .. They called me 2 days after I fill up the form .. They are open 7 days a week too .. For me is like they called me at 12pm and i said i could go down at 3pm ... So i went down that day ... During the call they also told me about the indicative price range of the car based on the details I gave them (which is carplate only) .. The indicative price range i got from them is 38K to 43K !!!! Its higher than the 38K than Hun's friend quoted us ....

PART THREE)>>>>>>>>>

[SATURDAY] When you reached the place , drive up to Level 7 carpark and park there .. The office is at Level 7 ... Went to the office and the lady sat us down the process ..

She explained everything to us basically it is like paying $107 for their service of basic inspection of your car plus photo taking to post onto their dealer network for bidding.. And see if it falls into your indicative price range .. Mine is 38K to 43K so the minimum is 38K .. They promised if the bidding end up below 38K (your lowest range) , they will refund you the $107 !!! So i thought no harm trying right !! Haha ...

And the process is damm fast ! So the staff followed me out to take a look at the car .. They took pictures and had a checklist with them , which was quite comphrehensive.. Also had the measuring device to measure the paint / accident free thing ... And took a look at the engine .. 2 staff did the inspection together so we just stood there .. Take pictures of the car and condition inside out ... (better go wash first lol)....They only took like 15-20mins to complete and also showed me the parts of the car which were spoilt (idk cos its my dad's car & i know almost nothing abt car engine thou i drive everyday lolz) just know how to pump petrol haha ... Anyways they also asked some questions like car plate retention ?? And sent some documents to my email to get the registered owner to sign ....
So thats it for the day and they told me that the bidding would take one working day .. So i will receive the results on Tuesday 5.30pm (i went on a saturday btw) .. So we just have to wait !!!

PART FOUR)>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

On TIUESDAY (actually can be Monday but she said Monday is full) I could see my car listed in the "sell by bidding" section on the Quotz website !! Screengrab below ..

The bidding is only for dealer to bid !!! Not for public ..

You could actually check the bidding price on the website when its open for auction hehe ... I took a look on Tuesday 4pm and saw only 36K wah super emo ..

But when closed at 5.30pm the lady called me and said it closed at 42K !!!!! Wah !!! Like unbelivable leh .... But of course this is not the final price as the highest bidding dealer wil contact you to thoroughly check the condition of the car but the starting price for us now is 42K !!! Super happy hehe ... So after the bidding closed we have one working day to make the decision WHETHER TO TAKE UP THE OFFER OR NOT ... if not it will lapsed and you won't get your $107 back ....

PART FIVE ) >>>>>>>>

Accepting the offer ! Can either call or email the contact person saying that you wish to take up the offer. But note that this is indiciative figure that they will take your car for ... its subjected to condition of the car ... but the price point to start the deduction from is higher ... understand ? haha... so for me the price point from 38K become 43K , I'm very happy , besides this car only has like 1 year left ?!!! Still got people take !!! & the condition cui .... because my father never take care .... SGCarMart will give your contact to the dealer who is the highest bidder ...you just have to wait .. & you wont know which dealer it is ....

FINAL PART ) >>>>>>

The dealer took 2 days to contact me, & we met the next day after he contacted me .. he told me to go to his workshop to do thorough inspection of the car .. I know this car damm cui one because always never service and my dad anyhow drive never take care !!! hahaha ... the inspection at the workshop took like 2 hours ... so we just sit there and wait ... the dealer also asked me to come and look while the workshop people is checking the car , like lifting it up see the below , run the engine etc ........

He also very shocked that my car condition so cui .. engine leaking (OMG i also dunno sia) .... the mounting loose , thats why when driving can feel vibrating wheel and car ... the engine super noisy .... LOL ... interior dirty , aircon spoilt.... and also listed down the other problems of the car to me... i was thinking OMG will he take it????? ... but in the end we negotiated the price , then cos we want fast deal so we agreed on something like the price 43K deduct all the repairs cos he will bear the repairs because really is super a lot of things to repair , we agreed on a price which we felt is abit on the low side but acceptable cos we just didnt wanna keep this car anymore (only left 1 year who will take?) also dont wanna fork out for repairs (too much things to repair got cost a few K at least !!!) ... and he say also chop chop settle with us !!!

Which is the attitude I like ... signed the sales agreement and agreed to pass him the car the next day .. together with Transaction Pin (must log in to One Motoring with Singpass and request for transaction pin of the vehicle that you're going to sell... it will take 3 to 5 working days to arrive.... and when it arrive, BETTER DONT OPEN... I dunno then I went to open it , the dealer say actually cannot open and wanted me to request for a new one ... but in the end he still took the one I opened, but never used what !! Shld be able to use... ...)

So the next day we drove the car to his office , then cleared the car , let him check everything through which took like 10mins and SETTLED !!! He just pass us cheque and we passed him the keys ... DONEEEEE :) this guy super efficient !!!!! (thumbs up!!!)

Overall my whole process took one week !!!!
  • Saturday - car inspection @ Quotz
  • Tuesday - Car bidding closed at 5.30pm
  • Thursday - Dealer contacted me
  • Friday - Car thorough inspection @ workshop & nego monies, sign agreement
  • Satuday - Passing the car & get cheque payment in full !!
Hope this helps anyone who is considering QUOTZ .. :)

  2. Dont bother going there, their assessment team don't know how to properly value what is wrong or okie with your car. Its better to go sell direct if you want proper pricing .
My car seats are in perfect order and they classify it as worn out. Car engine parts replaced and they classified it as problems.
